Now hold on, before you start rifling through your stack of flyers from take-away places for an afternoon snack, why don’t you try your hand at learning something new instead? Put on that apron and chef’s hat and check out this super fun, super easy recipe for Kit Kat cookies that’s sure to impress all your friends and family! (That is, if you don’t finish them all yourself!)
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup kit kat pieces
Prepare a baking sheet lined with waxed baking paper.
Sift flour and baking powder together; divide evenly into two bowls.
Preheat oven to 180˚C.
With a whisk, mix the melted butter with the brown and caster sugar.
Add the vanilla extract and egg. Incorporate well.
Add the half the flour and baking powder. Mix with a wooden spoon.
Break or chop the KIT KAT bars into pieces and add to batter.
Add the remaining flour and baking powder and mix well.
Roll the batter into balls and place on the baking tray with space between them, as they will expand during baking.
Put tray in the oven at 180˚C for 15-20 minutes.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
